I had this CD collection before but a it was just a box set. It was missed placed and now this Collection is even better because of the biography book.
And with Stevie Wonder, that's 98% of pure heaven. Treat yourself (and Stevie) right--skip this one and go for the gold. But a collection of this scope HAS to include ALL the best stuff--there's certainly plenty of second-tier Stevie here--and this release doesn't even come close.Buy 'Talking Book,' 'Innervisions,' 'Greatest Hits Vol. Of course: It's three CDs of Stevie Wonder songs. So, no "Superstition" (.)., "You've Got it Bad, Girl," "Blame It On the Sun," "Tuesday Heartbreak," or "Lookin' for Another Pure Love," among others. OK, choices had to be made.but here's what's NOT here: "You Are the Sunshine of My Life," (.--that omission alone tells you all you need to know), along with most of the rest of 'Talking Book,' one of Wonders' two totally essential genius works ('Innervisions' of course the other). Also no "Master Blaster" or "Do Like You," from 'Hotter Than July.' Is there oodles of great music here. One,' 'Original Musiquarium,' (quite a bit of overlap w/ 'Talking Book' and 'Innervisions,' granted, but you get "You Haven't Done Nothin'," "Master Blaster," "Do Like You" and the sublime "That Girl") and maybe 'Songs in the Key of Life'--and you've got 98% of the best of the best.
I look forward to many happy listening hours. CD arrived promptly & in fine condition. Thanx.
ALL YOU CAN WANT IN THIS ALBUM, THE BEST ONE.
Not only that, it would be way too costly to attempt (though I would say every 70s album SHOULD be bought). Highly recommended to anyone who wants to know what Stevie was about in one stop. As much as I love Stevie Wonder as an artist, it's almost impossible to buy every last album he's ever released. This set is the epitome of what a compilation set should be -- virtually every meaningful song he has made over his vast career.
